Vortex Melting furnace is composed of a compact vertical preheating furnace, an inclined cylindrical melting furnace, and a secondary combustion furnace.

The furnace wall is composed of a refractory material and protected by indirect cooling water.   Moreover, waste heat from the cooling water is recovered as steam and used as heat for the dryer.

The section that is east to wear is made into a cassette so that the worn parts can be replaced easily.

The NOx generation in the melting furnace is kept to a minimum by low air ratio combustion.

Energy-saving
In the dryer, the dewatered cake is converted into fine particle dried sludge that is less than 1mm and less than 5% moisture content.   A fluidized bed dryer is used and steam that is recovered from a melting furnace and a waste heat boiler is used as a heat source.

Resource recovery & effective use
The slag that is sufficiently homogenized in the refining furnace is turned into a glass material and converted into stones by heating in the crystallization furnace.   Therefore, the material can be applied widely for architectural uses.

Simple operation maintenance
TSK`s Operation Support System is based on the combustion and melting technologies accumulated over the years to attain a stable operation maintenance.

 

 

The oxygen burner can easily attain a high melting temperature of 1,450 to 1,500 °C , to promote sufficient homogenization and degassing that are essential for producing stones.

The inner wall of the furnace is protected form corrosion by a self-coating layer of slag that is produced by the cooling jacket and by the refractory material.   This configuration prolongs the life of the refractory material.

The configuration prevents clogging due to solidification by cooling when slag is discharged.

Low Running Cost
Using more than 93% concentration of oxygen produces a high temperature flame of more than 2,000 °C to effectively melt ash.   Therefore, the melting furnace can be compact and fuel consumption is reduced.

Low Flue Gas

Flue gas emission is 1/8 to 1/10 that of a conventional burner.   Energy efficiency is high with an oxygen combustion gas, and NOx generation is reduced greatly.

Easy Operation Maintenance
Overall plant is compact and easy to stop and start-up.   The furnace is comprehensively managed by camera observation and automatic control.

 

  Twin torch plasma melting (SBPM) system, which is a type of electric heating process, can be selected in place of SBOM system.
